Sliedrecht has been identified as the most traffic-safe municipality in the Drechtsteden region, according to a recent study conducted by research firm Independer. This ranking is followed by Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, while Hardinxveld-Giessendam and Dordrecht are among the least safe municipalities in the area.

Hardinxveld-Giessendam: High Accident Rates

Hardinxveld-Giessendam ranks as the second most accident-prone municipality in the top 10 list of Zuid-Holland municipalities with the highest number of traffic accidents per 10,000 residents. With 88.8 accidents per 10,000 residents, this municipality stands out for its road safety challenges.

Zuid-Holland's Safety Concerns

Dordrecht and Hardinxveld-Giessendam both exceed the average collision rate of Zuid-Holland, which is reported at 88.8 accidents per 10,000 residents. Zuid-Holland currently holds the title of the most traffic-unsafe province in the Netherlands, with incident rates significantly higher than the national average of 75.2 accidents per 10,000 Dutch residents.
